Pictus pouch Pattern & sewing instructions
Attention!! By purchasing this listing you will get a PDF files with instructions on to make this pouch, not a made pouch.
A drawstring bag is what I learned to make first many years ago. Since then it was a magical pouch that can carry all the most precious things. In my daily life I try my best to surround myself with mindful things, things that radiate love and attention. I may have less but I will have beautiful things because life is too short to live among lifeless clutter.
Pictus pouch was born out of friendship. Last year terrible things started happening in my neighborhood. If you follow me for a while, you know that I took almost half a year off to volunteer and help the refugees in my country. This was the time I met Teti from @tetisknitgarden on Instagram and we became friends. She is an incredible knitwear designer and beautiful soul. Together we decided to create something that represents our friendship and that is how Pictus was born - first as a sweater design and then, as a pouch design. To me it reminds me of Ukrainian shirt embroidery and Lithuanian tablecloth designs. I combined them both to make it into an embroidery I could use for the bags. To me, these designs are a symbol of friendship, strength and love for ethnic culture and heritage. I truly believe that together we create this beautiful space where we can uplift each other and show respect for our beautiful history. I hope this gets reflected in this bag at least a little bit.
